“Through 7 November 2012, the leading event specialised in ancient cultures and art, Basel Ancient Art Fair (BAAF), is opening its 9th edition, establishing itself once more as a major specialised fair.
18 exhibitors come from Europe and the United States are presenting within a former horse riding ring, the Reithalle Wenkenhof in Riehen, a broad exhibition of ancient art. Internationally renowed experts will be displaying exceptional objects from Classical Antiquity, Ancient Egypt and ancient Middle East civilisations. The Chenel Gallery (Paris) is involved for the first time. The BAAF is intended for collectors, museum curators, interior architects and art lovers from throughout the world. The prices of the objects on show go from 1,000 to over 1 million Swiss francs.
With a number of top-level specialists involved, the BAAF is indeed the leading event of classical fairs held in exhibition halls. All exhibitors are members of the International Association of Dealers in Ancient Art (IADAA) and follow a strict ethical code when it comes to the authenticity and origin of the objects on sale” – via Art Media Agency.
