NEWS: State of the art – behind the wraps at the Penn Museum

“The Penn Museum in Philadelphia has a permanent Egyptian installation divided into two sections – the Sphinx Gallery and the Mummies Gallery. Its collection of Ancient Egyptian artifacts – weighing in at an impressive 42,000 objects – is a visual history of an era that died a very, very long time ago. But it’s the Artifact Lab, a room tucked away behind the museum’s third floor Special Exhibitions Gallery, that is arguably the most intriguing aspect to the Penn.

“This is one of the features that sets us apart,” explained Pam Kosty, the museum’s public relations director. “We aren’t just a repository full of cool stuff. We have the experts, the insider look, if you will” – via Montgomery Media.
